Looking For A Job

When I was very young I wanted a job. I wanted a job because I wanted money. I wanted money because I wanted to buy some candy and toys. This was my first introduction to looking for a job.

The first job I remember having was feeding my friends rabbits while he was out of town. Every day I was faithful to go to his backyard and give them some food and water. I didn’t mind doing this because he had promised me two dollars at the end of the week. Wow! What I could buy with two dollars!

My friend came home from his trip but I never saw him around outside. Finally, I went to his door to ask for my money but I was told that he was not home. This went on for awhile. He must have been purposely avoiding me because I did not run in to him for some time. When I finally did, he promised he would pay me Tuesday. You know he never paid me for feeding his rabbits.

This was a learning experience. Since then I have learned a few more things about looking for a job. Here are some of the things I’ve learned. When looking for a job:

1. Make sure the individual or company you are going to work for will pay you.

2. Find something that you are able to do.

3. Find something that you will enjoy doing.

4. Find something that will provide you the pay and benefits that you need.

5. Find something that will allow you to spend time with your family.

6. Find something that will not interfere with your faith.

7. Find something that will be around for awhile.

8. Find something that will allow you to grow and promote you in the work field.

There are times when things are tough and you cannot find the job you are looking for. In that case, find something. Don’t go on without any work at all. At least you will be making some money, getting up and going to work. Wait until new opportunities arise, but don’t wait on your duff. Always be looking for a job that makes for better living!
